Disturbances in Coventry

Van Ablaze in Cecily Road, Cheylesmore
A van was set alight in the Cheylesmore area of Coventry last night as minor troubles continued to flare in the city. The fire started late on Tuesday in Cecily Road and Police were quick to respond.

Some local residents allege that petrol bombs had been used to ignite the vehicle but as of yet this is still unconfirmed.

West Midlands police were quick to respond to the blaze and Chief Inspector Kerry Blakeman confirmed on Twitter that arrests had been made following an "isolated incident".
The blaze followed a day when many City Centre businesses had closed early and taken extra security measures due to fears of rioting in the city.

There were also reports of a tree being on fire in Radford and possibly damaging a Scout hut. This followed on from Mondays disturbances on Jubilee Crescent.
